In Alaska, coffee is king and a hut can be spotted nearly every couple of blocks in towns throughout the state. Full of color and character, they depict the Alaskan culture--from sassy to sensible.  Here, people work hard. The Alaska coffee hut's genisis was likely the simple need for drive-through access on bitter winter mornings (after all, only a hot cup of Joe is worth opening the car door at 55 below zero!).  But it has evolved into much more--convenience that includes Alaska-sized personal service and delicious local  roasts.
